Hello! My name is Ahmad, and I’m an A-level STEM student. I am someone who delights in looking at the little things in life: gestures and expressions and scents and colors. I love to write, especially about the minute details and mundanities of daily life. I'm also a big fan of Biology, and plan to pursue a career in research! Hi I’m glad to have you here. Just a day before school started, I was a regular student from Jhang—then suddenly, I was in Lahore to stay for months, surrounded by strangers and society booths. It was exciting, awkward, and kind of adventurous. Settling into a new city wasn’t easy. But here, in all this strangeness. Together with fellow students, we created Khizar to help others navigate the initial shock of settling in. A space where starting fresh feels a little less overwhelming.
Greetings! I am so glad you came here. Leaving home to make a home can be challenging. A few years ago, I left my beloved hometown, Toba Tek Singh, to become a resident student in Lahore. A new place, a different community, feeling alone, socially unwelcome, all was happening at the same time to a 16 y/o. Despite being surrounded by peers, fellow hostellers, and teachers, I always felt a need for some sort of Khizar (someone who can guide). We are social beings. We need friends, community, acceptance, and a place to call home. In short, we are all in search of Khizar. I am glad that you found one. We are Khizar. Friends, we are a family!
